Alastair Muir is at the forefront of the evolution of Six Sigma in transactional projects. As President of Muir & Associates Consulting he has:

• developed the lean Six Sigma methodology, executed the first cycle time reduction project in GE Power Systems, and presented the results to the CEO and his entire senior team in 1998.
• instructed over 4000 people worldwide in DMAIC, DFSS and VBT and has developed novel methods for dealing with unusual problems.
• became the principal Six Sigma consultant at GE Power Systems in 1998 and has since worked with every GE business at worldwide locations.
• mentored hundreds of Six Sigma projects.
• has intimate experience with a wide variety of business problems and Six Sigma implementations at Fortune 500 companies.

He has taught at GE’s Crotonville Executive training facility and has been invited to speak about Six Sigma at international conferences and business schools. His book, “Lean Six Sigma Statistics” (McGraw-Hill) will be released in September 2005.

He has prepared Six Sigma training material for Bombardier, GE, The Six Sigma Academy, The George Consulting Group and The Valiant Corporation. He standardized the delivery of Six Sigma training material across all GE businesses worldwide with his “Book of Knowledge Navigator”.
